Melissa Smith
Physiotherapist
Melissa originally hails from the spectacular Eyre Peninsula where she worked in her own private physiotherapy practice. Melissa and her family have called the Barossa home since 2010, when she started with us here at Barossa Physiotherapy, although her 'kids' have since moved on to their own homes and careers.
As a rural physio, Melissa believes you become a bit of a "Jack of All Trades" as anything can walk through the door. She completed a Graduate Certificate in Rural and Remote Physiotherapy through Uni SA in 1997, and has been continually broadening her skills since then.
Recently, she has followed her interest in Oncology, becoming a Certified Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapist. Melissa also assesses and treats Vestibular (Dizzy) disorders.
She is one of our class instructors for floor-based rehab and also balance, and can assist with exercise rehab for all ages.
On her days off, Melissa and her husband are kept very busy on their property at Allendale North. She also enjoys music, and whilst her parents spent a small fortune on piano lessons for her, she can also be fairly easily convinced to show off her proficiency with "the spoons".
